Description

Study of the Virgin with the Child. Reinterpretation of the decor in pure gold.

The elements that distinguish this work are the rich decoration made of gold, coupled with a wonderful mastery in repainting the faces. In the interior halo, we notice a superb decoration, even more highlighted by a very fine granite on gold made of agate stone tip. The face of the Virgin was painted with a brush tip. Brushes are delicate and soft enough to make the skin of the Virgin Mary almost true. The baby's robes are all embroidered on gold, while the blue mantle of Mary is finished with an elegant decoration engraved on gold (the inside rim of Mary's dress). This work can be considered a real gem, where the color blends on gold and intertwines along the elaborate texture to create wonderful light games.
