Icon is made in small round shape and is drawn from Sano di Pietro, Sienese artist of the First Renaissance. This Tondo depicts a Virgin Mary with Child and Gold. The child holds tenderly in hand the gold, symbol of the Passion of Jesus Christ. In this beautiful icon, Silvia Salvadori perfectly recreates every detail present in the original table painted by Sano di Pietro. The gold is depicted with great realism, wings are defined with extreme precision, as well as every detail of the decoration, faces and incarnations, all painted with a subtle tip of brush, veil for veil, color on color.
