Description

Coat of arms of the Noble Contrada of L'Aquila. Autograph painting by Silvia Salvadori. Siena contrade, Sienese heraldry. The painting is a unique work inspired by the decorations on the Sienese biccherna tablets. The decorations on a pure gold background have been entirely engraved with a burin, reinterpreting the medieval decorative motifs. Coat of arms painted in tempera on a pure gold background. The work was painted according to the original techniques of the Sienese gold funds of the fourteenth century.
